Many Works
This site is devoted to three aspects of my creativity:
My writing. I always knew I would be writing in life, as a sideline if not a profession. Major writing avenues include science fiction/fantasy, poetry, and non-fiction on the subjects of my other interests.
Yarncrafts. I was active in 4-H in my youth, wanting to take such projects as horses, leathercraft, ceramics, and electricity. My mother pushed me to have a "girly" (yes, her word) project. Not being able to handle needles at the time, I took crochet. About four years later, I finally got needles behaving for me and included knitting. In college, I discovered weaving, including finger weaving (braiding).
Photography. I wanted to take photography in 4-H, but my parents were convinced it was too expensive. In college, I started shooting with a Regula IE because there were colors I wanted to capture and my art skills weren't up to the task. My camera family has now expanded to six 35mm and two digital cameras. I focus on documenting my area, reference photos for my art, and my county fair. I enjoy making panoramas and mosaics, and used to shoot infrared (Kodak has stopped making film, including EIR, and I can't currently afford a dedicated-IR digital camera)
Art. Art is another subject I've done all my life, though I've only been seriously pursuing it for the last five years or so. I work best in acrylic, pencils, and charcoals.
